At the invitation of the Rector of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Luis Serra Majem, and the Director of the Senior University, Lucas Andres Peres Martin, Professor François Vellas, President of AIUTA, presented AIUTA’s international cooperation initiatives to the staff and senior students of the University of the Third Age of Gran Canaria.
The ULPGC Senior University is a remarkable example of the success of lifelong learning over more than 15 years, now bringing together 1,500 senior students in dedicated classes on the Canary Islands, Africa, Asia, as well as thematic fields such as health and well-being, nutrition, gastronomy, and cultural and heritage legacy.
AIUTA works closely with the ULPGC Senior University, particularly on the development of lifelong learning and Universities of the Third Age in the Atlantic islands and in the countries along the West African coast.
