At the invitation of the President of the University of the Third Age of the Islands of Guadeloupe, Henri Marie, and the Vice-President, Véronique Hardel, Professor François Vellas, President of AIUTA, addressed senior students of Guadeloupe in the amphitheatre of the University of the Antilles campus in Saint Claude, Guadeloupe, on Friday, February 13, 2026. During his speech, Professor François Vellas highlighted the global development of Universities of the Third Age and the initiatives carried out in the field of senior tourism in cooperation with universities. The University of the Third Age of Guadeloupe will participate in the study trip for seniors to be organized in China in October 2026. President Henri Marie and Véronique Hardel have actively contributed to the AIUTA program, notably by organizing hiking activities for senior students on La Soufrière volcano in Guadeloupe and by participating in the World Congress on Senior Tourism organized in China. Thanks to the initiatives of the University of the Third Age of the Islands of Guadeloupe, and in cooperation with UNITRA MADININA Martinique, AIUTA will develop new international cooperation initiatives throughout the Caribbean, particularly through the AIUTA INSULA program, with English-speaking countries including Dominica, Antigua, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and Grenada.
