The delegations participating in the international conference in Cotonou, Benin, prepared the Cotonou Declaration. This document forms the foundation for cooperation among Universities of the Third Age in the countries of West and Central Africa. The delegations from Senegal, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Togo, and Benin held discussions during the conference round table on Tuesday, January 27, at the university, regarding the establishment of this official framework for cooperation for all countries in the West and Central Africa region. The next regional conference will take place in January 2027 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, at the initiative of the Universities of the Third Age of the region, with the participation of AIUTA. The Director of UNITRA Benin, Nicole Duchel, together with the High Representative of AIUTA for West and Central Africa, Sidi Camara, will be responsible for ensuring the dissemination of the Cotonou Declaration throughout the region.
