International delegates of AIUTA visited the University of the Third Age UMA (Universidade da Maturidade) on the campus of the Federal University of Tocantins and took part in a meeting with professors and senior students regarding the program dedicated to elderly people native to the Amazon. The international delegates also visited, together with UMA members and Brazilian delegates, notably from Campo Grande, an indigenous village that actively participates in UMA activities, including the doctoral program of the Federal University of Tocantins with Professors Neila and Neto. This visit represents a new step forward in the implementation of AIUTA’s new programs promoting lifelong learning for isolated elderly populations in collaboration with Universities of the Third Age.
