At the invitation of Montserrat Amorós, President of the University of the Third Age of Alto Palancia, AIUTA delegates participated in the international seminar on culture and lifelong learning in Geldo, in the presence of the Mayor of Geldo and delegates from Europe and the Middle East, including Lebanon. On this occasion, Professor Armando de Lucas delivered a lecture on the theme “Mexico: Past and Present.” AIUTA delegates laid the foundations for a new program aimed at enabling isolated elderly people, particularly in rural and mountainous regions, to benefit from access to the University of the Third Age. To achieve this, the challenge is to bring the University of the Third Age to seniors when they are unable to travel to university premises. This represents a very important issue for the benefit of elderly people worldwide. A pilot program will be implemented in several countries in order to be promoted at the level of global and regional international bodies such as the European Union.
