At the invitation of Magdalena Wnuk-Olenicz, Director of the University of the Third Age of Wrocław, Professor François Vellas, President of AIUTA, and Nadezda Hrapkova, member of the AIUTA Board of Directors and President of EFOS, took part in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the University of the Third Age of Wrocław on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. They joined representatives of Universities of the Third Age from across Poland and participants from numerous European countries. This celebration testified to the success of the development of Universities of the Third Age in Poland, which are among the oldest in the world. A scientific symposium was also organized, including a presentation by Marian Alesson Carbonell, member of the Board of Directors of AIUTA, President of the Spanish Association of Universities of the Third Age, and Director of the University of the Third Age of Alicante, Spain. Her presentation focused on the new paradigm for the future of Universities of the Third Age in Europe and worldwide, enabling them to adapt to the evolving expectations of senior learners from all generations.
