JUNE 2026

The second seminar of the AVE “Learning to Age Well” ERASMUS+ project was organized by the University of the Third Age of Alto Palancia in Jérica on Wednesday, 17/18 June 2026. Together with AIUTA, project partners from Bulgaria, Romania, France (Strasbourg) and Spain (Castellón and Barcelona) presented the results of questionnaires completed by more than 500 older adults in the four countries participating in the programme. The analysis of these surveys made it possible to define the structure of the report that will serve as the basis for preparing the AVE guide, aimed at improving the understanding of the ageing process. The participation of the mayors of Alto Palancia in the AVE ERASMUS+ project meetings is an example of the involvement of municipalities in programmes carried out by Universities of the Third Age and AIUTA. Accordingly, the meetings held on 17 and 18 June took place on the first day in the council chamber of Jérica Town Hall and on the second day in the Palace of the Dukes of Medinaceli, restored by the municipality of Geldo. The participation of local authorities alongside older adults helped enrich the content of the “Learning to Age Well” guide, coordinated by Violetta Pușcașu and the teams of the University of Galați, as well as in Spain by Montserrat Amorós, also Secretary General of AIUTA, who organized the meetings of AVE project participants in Alto Palancia.
