During the session held at the National University of Education of Mongolia with the Board of Directors of the University of the Third Age, President Jamts Samdandorj, together with the President of the Association of Retired Professors, presented Professor François Vellas, President of AIUTA, with the biannual publication documenting the study tour to Mongolia undertaken by seniors from the University of Economics and Management of Bratislava. The study tour was organized in May 2026 by Janka Chladecka, AIUTA’s Second Vice-President, and Otgonbaatar, Director of Senior Academy. This study tour, which brought together more than 50 students and professors, mainly from Slovakia, as well as from Thailand and China, provides an example of cooperation between Universities of the Third Age and educational tourism study tours. The development of study tours for seniors was also discussed during a meeting held at the Ministry of Tourism with the Director General of Tourism of Mongolia. On the occasion of these meetings in Mongolia, François Vellas presented the book “55+ The Largest University in the World,” which has recently been published in Russian by Ualikhanov University in Kokshetau, Kazakhstan. The book includes a chapter on Universities of the Third Age and senior tourism. AIUTA will actively participate in the development of initiatives undertaken by Mongolia’s Universities of the Third Age within the regional framework of the countries of Northeast Asia.
