A delegation from UNITRA DRC, comprising Ms Nhonho Libenge, Mr Christophe Iloko and Mr Jean Kingombe Tshali, took part in the 117th meeting of the AIUTA Board of Directors in Mola di Bari and in the International Conference of Universities of the Third Age in Bari on 24 and 25 September 2026. The UNITRA DRC delegates presented the situation of Universities of the Third Age in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and invited representatives of AIUTA member Universities of the Third Age to visit Kinshasa, DRC, from 28 to 30 January 2027, to participate in CIUTA, the AIUTA AFRICA International Conference of Universities of the Third Age. This international conference will be held for the first time in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It aims to highlight the importance of lifelong learning for older people in Central and West Africa, as emphasised by Médard E. TAMBWE MANGALA, President of UNITRA DRC.
