AIUTA and ISTHIA representatives, Professor François Vellas and Cyrille Laporte, participated in the international seminar of the network of Universities of the Third Age of Kazakhstan and representatives from Central Asian countries. During the seminar, Aigul Zhakupova, Vice-Rector of Ualikhanov University, presented the development strategy for Universities of the Third Age in the different regions of Kazakhstan, as well as in the countries of Central Asia. The speakers introduced by Moldir Zhumabekkyzy, Secretary of KASU, also took part in the discussions. Among them were the Director of the University of the Third Age of Tashkent University, Uzbekistan, and the teaching team of the University of the Third Age of Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. They presented educational strategies for lifelong learning aimed at older people, including teaching materials in the form of practical English language books designed for senior students. Ualikhanov University will host the next AIUTA Board of Directors meeting, at the invitation of Rector Marat Syrlabayev, on June 1, 2 and 3, 2027, in Kokshetau, Kazakhstan.
